African Energy Metals was founded by a small group of highly experienced individuals to take advantage of energy metal mineral opportunities in the DRC created by the increased worldwide focus on clean energy, electrification, and decarbonization. The DRC has a unique business and political environment and DRC local knowledge is key to long term success. Our team is led by Yves Kabongo, CEO. who was born in the DRC, educated in Canada and is based in the capital city of Kinshasa which is the political and business hub of the DRC. Grant Dempsey is one of the most respected mining engineers in the DRC with over forty years of experience in all aspects of mining operations in the DRC and is based in Lubumbashi, the hub for mining activities. Our founder, Kevin Torudag has been active in multiple mining transactions in the DRC for over eight years. Our Executive Chairman, Stephen Barley leads the leads the board of directors comprised of board members with experience in public and capital markets and specific experience in the DRC.
